I actually already have enough dust for the slow mount thanks to having to grind warbeads. Buuuuuut I don't have a friend who I can kill repeatedly and who can kill me. u_u

I wonder if someone on Alliance side Nesingwary could Real ID group to bring you over to the realm, then you and I could kill each other? I'll totally help if that could work.

That will work - I set up a HUGE Halaa Token farm and ended up with 40 plus Alliance and Horde together there on one realm (all cross-realmed in) and we got the whole farm down in less than an hour from start to finish with everyone getting enough tokens for both mounts.

If you can keep an eye out on openraid.us (or openraid.eu if you're on the EU realms), there might be another one being organized - there was one awhile ago after mine was such a success.

Otherwise it will take a long time because of rez timers :/

So I haven't been doing my Netherwing rep like I said I would (though I did find two eggs as I was doing archeology!), but I've been doing something else, instead! I finally went ahead and started doing the Mists stuff and wow. Just wow. The quests are so much fun! I'm really enjoying this expansion so far.(:

Hopefully I can get some of the cool mounts from it soon!

We're now up to 46! On Dona, at least. I do wish my horde mounts would count for that... Regardless, I now have my Wintersaber mount! I've been after this one since before the revised way to do it, and I'm very happy to finally have it! A certain rare even showed up to celebrate the occasion.



So I'll run Sethekk Halls in a few hours, then get my tush back to leveling Dona. I spent almost an hour last night making new characters of various classes on different realms, since my best friend is supposed to be starting back up playing today and we wanted to level together. I should've spent the time doing more quests (which, by the way, I am very much enjoying! Colour me surprised), but I always get carried away with character creation. I specifically avoided making another hunter, since I already have three. We'll see how long I can keep that up, though.

For now, I think I'm going to go back to sleep. But I really am very happy.(:

So my friend has gotten back into WoW, and she and I ran Heroic Magister's Terrace today. Nothing dropped, of course, but after that we decided to run Tempest Keep, just to see if we could.

We could not. We definitely, definitely could not. We had no problems up until Kael'Thas; everything was pathetically easy for a raid. We didn't even bother with the other two bosses, since we were only there for one thing. But when Kael'Thas summoned the weapons, we found we couldn't kill them fast enough. He'd rez his dudes before we managed it. We were both constantly getting stunned, so we couldn't really do anything. She was playing a balance druid (we decided the DPS was more important, since for the most part we didn't need heals), and I was playing my usual BM hunter with my beetle out to tank.

We ate so much dirt. We tried it again, with me switching out my beetle for a spirit beast (literally just for the heals), and died even faster. She was level 85, I was level 86.

Anyone have any tips for us?

Basically wait till your 90 and its a cake walk. He just lies down and dies lol! Seriuosly tho I struggled at 85 and the kiting technique just isnt for me so i just lvled up and now it takes 5 mins if that.

So! We may not be able to take Kael'Thas in his raid form at the moment, but we certainly can do Culling of Stratholme in less than 25 minutes! I have a pretty bronze drake, now. <: It's actually the first drake I've gotten, not counting my protos!

TK is all about mechanics - and the stun you guys would be getting (at least the balance druid) would probably be from the shield for memory. I would always burn that down first and then AOE the rest down when soloing on my priest because it would shadow lock you pretty quick.

As Castile said - at level 90, so much easier.

Are you guys US or EU? If US then I don't mind taking my alliance spriest down there and helping you guys out weekly to farm him (already have Ashes, so obviously he's yours if it drops). Let me know and PM me your battletag if you're US

KT is a pain! I solo him every week for ashes, and it really depends on how I'm playing/how RNG works out for how well the fight goes. Usually I can pretty much go through it with my brain half off, but today he despawned on me four times, for example.

Suggestions: First, reach 90. It's much, much easier at 90. Second, if you don't already, have a BM spec. It's not necessary, but for a large portion of the fight, I don't even have a ranged weapon equipped, so my pet has to do 90% of the damage.

The fight:
Phase 1: He just sends his advisors at you. Shoot 'em. Really easy, just kill the guys.

Phase 2: He spawns weapons. AoE them down, and loot the staff that drops. DO NOT let your pet go attacking things willy-nilly. My pet killed the staff on his own twice in a row, which meant I didn't get to loot it. The staff if VERY important!

Phase 3: Equip the staff and right click it to get the buff it gives. Do not equip your ranged weapon again! You need to have the staff equipped to get the buff. Kael will rez all of his advisors at once. This is one of the hardest phases. I found that my best bet was to pop all my cooldowns and nuke the crap out of the two melee advisors first. Because you can't shoot, this means traps, Kill Command, Glaive Shot, and things like that. This is when Exhilaration and/or a Spirit Beast comes in handy! You'll be taking lots of damage. Once those two are down, kill the Engineer, then wait to make sure your pet no longer has Remote Toy. Once Remote Toy wears off, kill the caster. Don't stand near her, or she'll throw you around.
NOTE: You NEED the staff's buff here. The advisors have tons of CC abilities that can destroy you if you don't have the staff. Also, I've had it happen that my pet will be thrown so far that he despawns. DO NOT FEIGN. This will reset the fight. Just call your pet back and keep fighting.

Phase 4: Kael will attack. Keep your staff equipped. Run over to one of his big statues of himself (narcissistic at all?) and stand behind it, and let your pet follow you. Once he's nearby, preferably at the edge of the statue, send your pet. MAKE SURE you are out of his line of sight AT ALL TIMES. If he sees you, he can cast a 30 second MC and he has chained it before so I've had no downtime. Hopefully, your pet is close enough to you that he will still have the staff's buff. If he doesn't, Kael will switch targets every time your pet is stunned. This is really annoying and means a lot of feigning, so position carefully! Use Kill Command, Blink Strike, or any other pet attacks to lower his health. Exhilaration will do a pretty good job keeping your pet alive, but if he needs healing, only run out to heal him directly after Kael yells "Bow to my will!". Bestial Wrath is great too, but it can make Kael randomly switch targets. Also note, phoenixes will attack you at this time. Ignore them or just set a trap. They don't do enough to worry about.

Phase 5: Kael will run off and monologue. Kill any phoenixes and eggs around, and equip your ranged weapon. It's important to not get in line of sight yet! While Kael is in the air, he can still MC you. If that happens, he often despawns and you need to start over. Stay behind your handy statue and wait until he runs to you. Then, do what hunters do best: Nuke the crap out of him! He can do serious damage, so kill him fast.

Loot, cry, leave. That's my way of doing it!

No luck on any mounts dropping, but apparently I hit exalted with Gilneas! Running heroics every day can be useful, it seems! Still, it snuck up on me. I'm at 49 mounts, now, and wearing an Ironforge tabard. I'm already revered with them, so it shouldn't take too terribly long to hit 50! These tabards are lovely, lovely things. I get nice rep for doing what I was going to anyway!

I do wish there were more Gilnean mounts, though. I like a variety of colours. I love the model, but they used my two least favourite colours from the Stormwind mounts. Making them look more like Clydesdales and not just very bulky horses would have been lovely.

Regardless, I do like them a lot. Enough that I took two pictures, showing off both mounts! My apologies for my crummy screenshot skills.

Make sure to get the pandaren tabard next. The turtles are a huge mount # boost.

It dropped! I didn't win the roll---my heroics partner did, because I insisted we both greed it---but it dropped! I have such a stupid grin on my face right now, you guys have no idea. I was starting to think these mounts didn't actually exist, and just when I started to think about giving up on them, the rarer one dropped. I did also go and get my Ironforge mounts at some point since my last post, and the albino drake because of them, but who wants pictures of that? Have Tamera Ali on a Raven Lord instead!

He dropped for my friend when I was in on the run with him (he won the roll), we then went over to Mag's Terrace and lo & behold, White Hawkstrider was the next drop! LOL

Since the last post I've gotten the mechanostriders, but my draenei looks godawful on them so we're going to pretend I don't have them. Her feet almost touch the ground.

However, I'm a good way into revered with the netherwing! I should have that done within a week, as long as I can keep forcing myself to do it. The heroics will be a trial for a bit, too. My running partner is away, and it's just not as much fun by myself! I'm thinking about finishing up my Cenarion Expedition rep, too, but I'm only halfway through honoured with them, so it'd be a pain. I'm a good bit through honoured for the pandaren, as well, so I should get an additional 12 mounts soon, haha. I haven't bothered to level for a while, and probably won't until I get my two heroic mounts. It's just a pain trying to travel to a bunch of different continents. I really do want the Cenarion War Hippogryph; I don't have any hippogryphs yet, and I really do love them. Once I finish that I'll have all the Outland mounts. I'm still trying to decide if I want to move on to the Northrend ones from there or just level more. There are a lot of mounts in Pandaria and Cata, after all...

Gratz Aela! (even if you hate your mechnochickens lol!) I dont use em much either tbh.

Another tip for Kael: I did it solo this time (usually take my partner) and the only thing i changed was to dimiss my pet before the MC bit. That way I didnt have to worry about line of sight. I just poped both Stampede and Dire Beast and he didnt dent my hp at all. Re sumon pet for next phase and win! I dont use the staff either, he doesnt hurt you much at 90 tbh and id rather pewpew him quicker
