Now I'm sorry but what the hell!? Merida looks fine as she is.. WHY change her?????? I get they want to appeal to the masses but that petition has about 19,000 signatures and I think THOSE are the masses.

Exactly. She doesn't care about pretty dresses and stuff like that.. They're putting the idea forward that "It's better to be pretty than brave." At least in my opinion. She's got bigger more seductive eyes and a thinner face too and I believe shes wearing make-up.TygerDarkstorm wrote:Yeah I'm not thrilled about the way they want to showcase her because, imo, it's not Merida anymore. Her whole struggle in the movie was not wanting to conform to the stereotypical princess look and behavior and I feel like Disney changing her (they also made her waist smaller and gave her bigger boobs supposedly) defeats the reason many women and girls love her. Merida is perfect just the way she is in her movie.

They even got the horse right, there. I greatly approve of her face character. I just wish the new toy version would look like that.TygerDarkstorm wrote:On the bright side, her face character more accurately resembles her true self

I agree. I think the toy version will come out looking like the prototype pictures that have been posted and that just makes me sad. Like Doctress I identify most closely with Merida.LupisDarkmoon wrote:They even got the horse right, there. I greatly approve of her face character. Sofia, the remarkably purple spirit cat as drawn by Ket Shi. ![]()
Frost Death Knight ~ Servellan~, BM Hunter ~Castile~
It was going to be called "The bear and the bow" but was changed when the lady who was directing it left and the new person changed it. I think the first name would of suited the movie more.Castile wrote:Is there a figure of the horse? Cause id totally buy that over the princess doll of her lol! I liked the movie but thought it would be more about "her" than her mother turning into a bear...I was abit let down by that. And yeah why change her? Silly american ideals of beauty.
Disney hasn't done it for me for awhile to be honest, Studio Ghibli has my heart <3

A few facts. Last I checked. Even from my families' history .............. Scotts didn't have kings (they were actually called Monarchs). Which would mean no princesses. So she should have NEVER been put in the "princess" category.

Sorry but I never grew up hearing my grandmother, great grandparents talk of kings EVER when it came to clan rulers. They were called monarchs. Shame you had to ruin all I was taught to prove yourself correct because that's what wikipedia said. Wow.cowmuflage wrote:zedxrgal wrote:

Um you do know A king is a monarch right? Scotland has had kings, lots of them. One of the most famous was King James (King of Scotland as James VI and King of England and Ireland as James I)
