What a lucky week! While in the love rocket queue on my horde I've been doing loops to see if Gorok was up and today...he was!! Just outside the garrison

ONYXIA FINALLY DROPPED HER MOUNT FOR ME!!!!!!

I'm so ecstatic!

And as a bonus, it pushed me to 200 mounts so I got my armored dragonhawk too!

I have been playing WOW since Vanilla and I have always had a love/hate relationship with anything related to mounts: I would get interested in many RNG/luck dependant mounts but I would either waste an overwhelming amount of time camping them until I got them (I could easily write a saga just to tell how I got Aeonaxx's mount) or I would simply have to farm the mounts for years on end until I finally saw something drop (Kael's and Onyxia's mounts come to mind, but I still haven't received the panther from ZG even after over 500 kills and Karazhan's one doesn't want anything to do with me even after years farming it). Saw many mounts drop throughout the years during raids/dungeons but I never managed to get anything, always rolling pityful 1-10 scores (Zulian Tiger

).

That was until last week: the stars were aligned and I looted Mimiron's Head and then right at the first day of this week's reset I also manage to loot Invincible and Al'akir's drake. A friend of mine used to tell me back in the days that no bad luck could last forever and one day I would get rewarded, I guess my time finally arrived.

I hope everyone gets their wish mount(s)! If there's one thing I learned from both my bad luck streak and my good luck streak is that nothing lasts forever. If you are like I was and things never go the way you want in terms of RNG while everyone else seems to be getting what they want don't despair, your time will surely come, you just have to be patient and good things will happen when you least expect.

Strange thing. Normally these mounts (Jeweled Onyx Panther) are over 100k in price, as they take about 80k in mats to make. While browsing the Auction House the other day, I noticed several posted at about 44k. Then today, they were listed for 38k, under another seller.

Puzzled, I did some research. Apparently there has been incidents where people have hacked the game some how and made fake Onyx Panthers - if you ever see anyone advertising one in Trade for a ridiculously low price, don't buy it. The item won't have any "charges" to it, and all you'd be buying is basically the mount icon. However, the auction house verifies items as being legit, with proper "charges" to them, and so any mount listed on there will work properly (and thus is not a hack that we know of?).

I had almost enough gold to buy one, and my hubby was a sweetie and gave me the rest. Now I have a gorgeous new mount which I absolutely love.

I tried to let my friend know about the cheaply listed mounts, but by the time she logged on, all of the Onyx Panthers were taken down. I have no idea what's going on there. Have the mats been reduced in price? Did someone make a bunch and then just wanted to get rid of them? I forgot to get the seller's name, so I couldn't ask. Maybe you guys have seen this before?

Edit: Oh gosh, ok. Did more research this morning. These mounts ARE being duped. According to a Reddit thread the GMs do know about it and they are working on a solution.

I bought mine without realizing precisely what was going on. I was just excited and wanted one so bad! Now I know. Duping these mounts pretty much eradicates all the hard work (and gold) legitimate crafters spend on these things.

So I guess if you see this happening on your realm and want to try to slow it down, report the sellers. If you decide to jump on the chance for a cheap Jeweled Onyx Panther, that's entirely up to you - if bought legitimately off the AH, you technically did nothing wrong. It's just a personal morality thing.

Wow! Congratulations, Krauth!! It is a gorgeous mount! : )
For me, it's not really an "accomplishment", but I bought an Amani Dragonhawk on the auction house on my realm for ONLY 51k! I couldn't believe it at how low it was so I jumped on the occasion! That being said, two days later, someone put up mounts ( Ghastly Charger, Corrupted Hippogryph, Mottled Drake and Rhino ) for REALLY low prices. I told a guildie of mine and he bought them. I'm glad I could hhelp with his mount collection! : )

HAH! despite their attempts to stop me from camping it, I managed to find a nifty little spot to settle down and wait for my precious little burning chicken to appear. Not as bad as TLPD, Aeonaxx or the seahorse but still something I am glad to have done. I am now the proud owner of a flaming purple death chicken that reminds me of my favorite song!

also on a side note, i have begun my grind for TCG mounts. I found a server with good prices so i settled down and three weeks later managed to buy two TCG mounts! ^.^

Now to get that pesky magical rooster and Fel drake.
