New Pets in Forever (Spoilers)

At least looking at the Database, there are a few interesting NPCs that either give color variants that weren't originally available in Vanilla or have a unique appearance

Turtles: Krek the Noxious (green gas effect)
Tallstriders: Moonstrider and Giant Moonstrider (purple tallstrider)
Wolves: Old Rusthowl and Old Ironfang (Brown & Grey worg)
Crocolisks: Ghostmaw (potentially a ghost crocolisk)
Crabs: Methuselah Crab (obsidian crab with red sapphire on its back),
Cats: Ombassa (another source of the black lion variant), Ta'shkal "Escaped Experiment" (green & orange cat variant)
Carrion Birds: Bloodshrike (bald eagle model)
Bird of Prey: Marsh Owl (uses the purple owl variant)
Bear: Tainted Bramblepaw (uses the sickly white variant)

Could I get a link to that database? I'm really curious about the new wolf/worg colors...

Can anyone confirm whether or not other hunters can get the owlbear pets outside of the new starting zone?

There are means of transportation for non-Skyborne to get to the new starting zone. For example, Horde can go to Skywatcher Plateau in Mulgore and take a zeppelin from Mulgore to Zephras Isle.

That is awesome to hear. I'll be taking my human up there to grab one of the new pets then. I was actually debating on making a skyborne just to have one.

Has anyone actually seen/tamed the gold/yellow rare Vuldren Slydris?

I have camped it for over 12 hours and it hasnt spawned so was just wondering if it is actually spawning properly.

There is a fairly reasonable chance that the one Slyvern that is classified as a Wolf will be changed to a Fox at some point. Since slvyerns are flying foxes, it being a wolf is likely unintended.

Any additional information on Mystmane, been camping the two known spots without it ever appearing. Granted layer swaps might be an issue, but wonder if anyone has caught it elsewhere.

Many of the new pets are severely bugged as of 9/24/2026;
The Shadowgale Shriekling is a Raptor but is listed as a Bird of Prey currently. This means it loses it's Savage Rend 1 ability upon dismissal or logout. It cannot learn other Bird of Prey abilities like Demoralizing Screech either.

The Shadowgale Ursera which you can tame at level 11 has Claw 3 which requires level 16. If you tame it prior to 16 it will remove Claw 3 upon dismissal or logout. It will also remove Claw 3 from your spell book if you're not level 11 upon dismissal or logout.

The Vulgren Foxes cannot be taught via Beast Training.

I've had Ornery Galestrider losing Dust Cloud 1 upon dismissal or logout.

I really hope so. I was extremely disappointed with Vulgara the Insatiable when I tamed her. Not only does she not get Trickster's Dance from the Fox family, she also doesn't get the Wolf family Furious Howl. I guess giving her Trickster's Dance with her base 1.5 attack speed would be too strong, since that would place her at a 1.1 attack speed obtainable at level 8 or 9. But then there's no real reason to tame her outside her dark coloration. One might as well tame a Vuldren Alpha with Trickster's Dance giving them a short burst of 1.4 attack speed every 3 minutes alongside a 50% dodge. She's neat because of her coloration but there's no real reason to use her compared to an Alpha.

I am very curious about a few particular pets in wow forever. Will unique hunter pets from season of discovery be tameable on wow forever. If so I would love to tame a young pridewing. Will any beta testers be willing to test if the wand can be obtained in forever once the level cap rises

I just wanted to add my two cents.

I just tamed Nightscreech at 6:00pm on the pve server. He spawned around [38.4,28.1] and I had only been waiting maybe 10 minutes and helping people kill Lady Sathrah when he spawned.

No, I can't train Growl on Slydris. The pet training window only shows Bite Rank 2, even though I have enough training points. It may be a bug with Vuldren pets.

New to hunter and camping pets, been hanging out at this Coldrasp spot for 6 hours so far with no sign of it. Been sitting in the ring of mushrooms, and making laps every so often.

Do I need to be killing wolves? I have killed them a few times, but mainly have just been camping around the mushroom ring.

All you need to do is stand around the mushroom circle. I did that and spammed my /target macro for about 5ish hours and got him.

update on coldrasp, found him after 6 hours 13 minutes on a layer but heard someone in chat say they were there for around 8 hours with no luck so seems any between 4 and 9 hours on a layer is guarunteed if you're by yourself with no annoying undead killing him. he spawned in front of my eyes at coordinates 19.5, 65.4 and seemed like he was about to start sprinting to the mushroom field. my advice is go to those coordinates, back up a bit in between them and the fairy ring and spam a macro. goodluck hunters!

I might be out totally wrong lvl wise and so on but the Barn Owl in Duskwood is that tamable? It seems to be the only black owl in game below lvl 60.
