Figured Blizz would go for something that didn't already exist...

Re: BM beta spec discussion...
I'm fairly certain that there is a good explanation for this. Diablo 3 and SC 2. None of the other betas had TWO other games coming out by the same company during testing. Blizzard has a very full plate atm, give them patience, give the game time and patience, they'll work it out. I'd rather wait longer and get quality games/expacs, but a majority of people, as I've explained many times before, are greedy and impatient and demand things when they WANT it, and then QQ until hell goes cold b/c it was sloppy. If Blizzard had it their way, I'm sure they'd spend as much time on each as they wanted to make them the best they possibly could, but instead they are rushed and pressured by a mostly selfish fanbase who can't wait a few months extra for something.Palladiamorsdeus wrote:From what I am hearing from Beta tester, this is the beta-ist beta that ever beta'd. Um no? If Blizzard really cared about the game, they wouldn't rush it. I mean look at bloody Kingdom Hearts games, those things were never rushed. Granted they probably had them in storage, but that's not the answer. There is NO excuse for Blizzard to make shoddy expansions or worse expansion packs.Gimlion wrote:I'm fairly certain that there is a good explanation for this. Diablo 3 and SC 2. They have NOTHING rushing them. Fanbase be damned.
Their only problem? They WAITED TO LONG TO START DEVELOPMENT. So of course they're rushing. And whenever they do anything to stall it's always just a raid, for end game content, just a raid, meaning only hard core players are interested. And ontop of that, hard core players whined when it was released too.
Blizzard poorly planned crap, blizzard poorly planned this. We did nothing to make them rush- so we have a right to QQ because of blizzard being sloppy.

Gim's right; there are competitors out there and there is a large part of the playerbase that is fickle and more than happy to swap to the latest shiny MMO rather than sticking with WoW.Gimlion wrote:All I'm saying is that people complain when things take too long, but Software building and coding takes a LONG time. Re: BM beta spec discussion...
It's NOT our fault for Blizz's poor planning. That and developers who work on Starcraft, don't work on Warcraft, nor do they work on Diablo. So no they're not stretched in three ways by that, nor are they spreading resources thin. And if they are doing that, then it's their own fault for being to stupid to hire seperate developers/workers for each game, considering how long it takes to just make one game.Gimlion wrote:All I'm saying is that people complain when things take too long, but Software building and coding takes a LONG time. Blizzard would likely lose a large portion of their fanbase, had they took the year and a half to two years which they should use. Would you want to wait 2 years for an expac? Especially when you reached end game a half year-year before? Most people wouldn't. They want things quick. I'm not saying anyone here is being the greedy impatient fanbase, but you CANNOT say they aren't being rushed by the fanbase. They HAD to get out another Diablo game, and SC 2 has been anticipated for at least a 1 and a half years. And shortly after they announced the release of Cata. They are divided in three JUST by the separate games, then again in two by the impatient fanbase b/c they want things in half the time that it takes. I'm standing by what I've said before. If people could get a damned decent sense of patience and thoughtfulness they'd realize it takes a while for good programing and coding and expacs and games to come out, sit down, and wait like they should. They're sitting here QQing about it, and half of them haven't ever tried to code things, or make a video game. If you want to blame the company, go try software engineering first. My dad's a software engineer and I know Damn Well how hard it is.
Also, you seem to think, we're the ones bitching about wanting a game out now now now.
No.
We're bitching because Blizzard is wanting to push the game out now now now, that they've cut out alot of fun things, cut back on other stuff, and are really fucking up the trees, even in so early in beta.
No where were we complaining about wanting it now. We were QQing about how badly Blizzard was fucking over BM atm. This has NOTHING to do with when/how/why/when the game is coming out.
And as said before, if Blizzard properly planned shit, they wouldn't be 'rushing' and you wouldn't be blaming Fanbase. And do you know why? When blizzard released WotLK, they knew they probably had oh, around a year or so, before the 'end game content would be reached'. Meaning they had a year to start planning.
Meaning if they ignored that year to start planning for the next game and instead are waiting till the last minute, stalling us with raids and etc, that's not our fault.
This is like blaming a non existant dog for eating a child's homework because he was late, didn't do it on time or just utterly forgot.
And again[ this fickleness is because of how Blizzard is running things atm/what they've released. Mean that real ID scare probably got alot of people away- so once again it's not truly the Fanbase, but Blizzard's own doing/handling and Activision too.Gim's right; there are competitors out there and there is a large part of the playerbase that is fickle and more than happy to swap to the latest shiny MMO rather than sticking with WoW.

Re: BM beta spec discussion...
RealID on the forums may have sounded scary, but it didn't cause even a small fraction of people to suspend their accounts. The minority has a louder (and whinier) voice than the majority.
Sure, WoW isn't perfect, but it's vastly better to any other mmorpg on the market, Blizzard has the money and the corporate respect to polish their products before releasing them. At this point in early beta, the most productive thing to do is to comment on how you think things should be changed, are the proposed/implemented changes good, and what would you do to change them. Constructive criticism is better than complaints and flames.
Also, based on prior info; Blizzard has a few instances that can be released if an expansion is taking too long to come out. Zul'aman was one, there's a few other troll raids that can still be released, so I wouldn't be surprised that if the expansion takes a little longer to finish we'll see another smaller raid released.
So relax, kick back and enjoy the game.
Here's a picture to cheer you up.
