zedxrgal wrote:Pessimist reporting for duty. I seriously don't think Blizz is doing this one by accident. To much lines up.
No one has it, someone gets it, hunters go crazy over it, videos are made about it, talked about on forums, several tamings then copy over to beta, latest patch ................ GONE. Hhhhmmm let me think. May be a pessimistic view but I don't think it's a rescaling of size.
The system was cheated in sense and Blizz never takes to kindly of that. So problem solved and they're back to 'normal'.

I went and tamed them both to in the hopes that it would stick. But alas it's clear that's not going to happen.

This is going to sound harsh (but it's really not meant that way) this is why this should have been kept as quiet as possible. Not secret per say but surely not have received the press it got and the removal is why.
Again, not trying to sound harsh or point fingers. :) <-- smile to show not meant harshly

I really hope it's a scaling issue as said. But I doubt it.
I think it is gonna be the new Spirit Wolf/Ooze/Hydra/Ghost Croco as in that it will come back and the hunters that tamed it on live will keep it but it will be untamable in Cata. Really, name a lore reason for it not to be tamable aside from the huge brain. Which is limited to Buru only because Buru isn't a Silithid, Buru is a Qiraji, those two are different. Alas. NO reason at all. So I'll stay optimistic for once and keep both bugs. Especially Soriid which will fit great with my Striker's Garb.

And IF it stays untamable and the model is gone, then I made this for you hunters who will mourn him (including me) AND you! Yes you! Stupid Blizzard, for making Pirate-Haarka sad ( :( )! *shakes fist in anger* Leave Haarka alone! He only wanted someone to accompany him!

I am hoping these go live, and even better would be them being tamable come cata!

Head out to where Soriid and Haarka used to spawn (the surface of the silithid hives in Tanaris)

The brain bugs are still there, they have new names now though :)

Found old Soriid and Haarka deep under the hives too

New names and they have a diet... I'm surprised you didn't beast lore them. Soriid's new name has something to do with exotics, so, take a look for yourself. =)

I posted a screen-shot in my thread for you guys and I'll throw another one in here so nobody is left out of the loop.

I think that's the final confirmation, Sorrid and Haarka are back to their original forms. Done, game over, move along, nothing to see here...

If secrecy was what would have saved this pet, then it was doomed to begin with, as the way it was discovered for the most part was in the Totalbiscuit cata video. Totalbiscuit even stops and points out the pet. His videos are very widely watched, so there was no way we were gonna be able to keep it a secret.

Also, I'm sure blizz developers knew from the get-go that when they changed the skins on the rare spawn silthids, that those who already had these as pets would have to have their models fixed.

I'm fairly certain that if blizzard had intended anyone to keep these as pets, then they would have just kept them as tameable :<

I like to keep hoping and providing updates to other people that like to keep hoping. :3

Edit- Confirmed that the original creatures are back. I have mixed feelings about that but I'm happy to see that they at least gave us those two back instead of entirely cutting the rares off and turning them into untamable Colossus if it indeed turns out to be permanent.

It walks that way because it's the new walk animation for silithids. They made it to match the silithid mounts.

And if you re-read what I said said I in no way said for it to be kept "secret". :) I've even said in my original posts on this it shouldn't be kept a secret just as quiet as possible. Yes TB had it in his video, but this bug created A LOT of buzz beyond his video and the actual time shown isn't really that long.

But I still chalk it up to Blizz just being Blizz and ruining things for hunters. They seem to take away all the fun and great stuff for us.

:( I'm sorry. I kind of wanted the blue brain-bug and I know a lot of people were super excited about it. I'm sorry Blizzard is taking it away.

OH! So they're mocking us AND keeping Soriid/Haarka. That's slightly better, at least!

Actually, this way, it seems less like mocking and more of an acknowledgement of the hunter community in general.

STILL, Blizz should open up some of the other silithid models, even if the brainbugs are too close to sentient to be tamed.

Well, we can tame raptors! The Wow raptors are quite smart if you look at the Venomhide quests! They wear jewelry, can draw pictographs, etc. They seem to understand the value of certain things as "money" versus just grabbing anything shiny (That Stolen Silver quest).

If we can tame them, why not brain bugs? :D

I am still keeping mine for the time being.

No reason to dump them, and go retame the Spirit Beasts I junked for the Silithids.

I can honestly say that it doesn't matter...

...I would rather have Gezz, Krush, slime croc, and a Spirit Wolf.

I need more hunters, IMO.
