I'd love to be able to attend but timezone differences mean that events happen sometime while I'm at work. My experiences with my own guild indicate that a turnout of 8-10 people is actually pretty good. Some folk just arent interested in goofing about.
Perhaps aim for one semi-structured event each 2 weeks and a casual gettogether on alternate weeks?

I would like to thank you all for putting in suggestions for this. I will take them all into consideration and make plans to get things in motion to put these ideas into effect.

The time frame is really hard for me. Too early as I'm still trying to get things done around the house after work.

What about fluctuating the date and time. Say one week you have something at 9:00 or 10:00, and then next time around 6:00... and then a possibility of switching days, or will that get to confusing.

If not weekly, maybe space it out to be twice a month.. One time early in the evening, one time late in the evening.

I definitely like our impromptu get togethers that we have... Just can't make the scheduled time.

You've got two big things working against you. It's summer and it's right before a major expansion drops.

Heck, if you've got free time at work and read WoW.com everyday like I do, you'd see articles about how guilds are introducing guild events at this time because they are having bad guild turnout.

As soon as the chilly weather hits, and Cataclysm is the status quo, guild events will pick up again. Personally, I've been working during every event since learning about the guild a few months ago.

I was only able to attend one even because of time constraints but would really love to attend more.

I'm a big fan of events, even though I sometimes feel out of the loop a bit. I was really good about making them for a while, but my work schedule has gotten unpredictable and I've been working too late most Fridays. In addition to that, I've also just been playing a whole lot less these days in general. Demands from the personal life and such.

That said, I still remember what a blast it was to chase that pink death knight through the Ghostlands. I was grinning ear to ear for the duration of that event.

In my case, it has nothing to do with lack of interest, and everything to do with outside influences on the time I can put in online.

i love the events idea! ok so ive only been in 3 other guilds but none of them did this kind of "togetherness" stuff. 2 were nicer than the others but still all three are good places to be if want you want is what they offer. my main is in a raid guild... to get gear? and to see the end of LK but other than that i really am bored with raiding the same thing. the only "togetherness" stuff raid guilds do is raid and that can get boring. my 1st guild was social but RARELY had any events going on. i love that petopia does! hide and seek was fun to me ^_^ i wasnt going to roll another toon but then petopia made a guild i could join! how could i resist? i like my stories in more book form so i dont play through the game for that. i play to play a fun (most of the time lol) game and because... its easier to talk to friendly internet ppl than real life ppl for me (long stories lol). my main is almost set but i cant miss too many runs less i try looking for another guild that will let me raid as BM. my only problem is time; the weekend+mon+tues are raid nights. i do try to support petopia guild and will continue to do so. i wuv u guys ^_^
