Aw man, thought that you meant it would be critter sized when tamed. That's a little disappointing, but nice to know we can essentially tame another critter-like beast.
I openly admit to finding bugs and exploits so they can be reported asap and get fixed. You might have seen some of the fun hunter pet side effects posted here in the past.
I will never share how to perform exploits. The only ones who know are those I personally trust to help get things fixed.

TY for the tip, OP. Though they don't remain small, they can be tamed by low levels. My level 14 hunter managed to tame two of them.
