Re: Compiling a database of pets that retain their names after taming

Take two! I went back and finally tamed Pinky. I had to land on top of one of the gate posts with the flaming torches, which was in range of Pinky, and also ensure that my Juvenile Direhorn companion landed on top of the post with me and hence couldn't find a path to attack. I could then get aggro f...

Re: Compiling a database of pets that retain their names after taming

Here may be a dumb idea, especially if phasing is involved, but perhaps doing the quest on war mode may help? Start it on the horde, then have an alliance player kill/incapacitate all NPCs that would be a problem. Of course, I don't know how that zone works with phasing, but assuming that the playe...

Re: Compiling a database of pets that retain their names after taming

I'm a bit sad that it didn't pay off visually, but someone had to bite the bullet to find out! I'm leaving my panda on the island until the name actually does become available, if that ever happens. I would go check for Pinky, but I don't want to level another hunter. Not for a long while, consider...

Re: Significant Stable Slot upgrade incoming

I will admit having 200 pets doesn't really feel like more as long as the family/spec abilities are inflexible. I feel like I cant run the pets I think are the coolest because the content I happen to be running decides what pet families I can actually use. That feels bad no matter how its sliced, b...

Mystery solved; Guardian of the Elders does NOT retain its name upon taming. FOR SCIENCE!
Oh. My. Gawd. I can’t believe you did that! That’s amazing! Thank you so much! 😊

Re: Companions with multiple looks - collection test page

I compiled a complete list of all the unique looks that are on multi-look pets, and made the mistake of doing it directly in MySQL Workbench. I don't know why I did that, I knew better. I spent hours on it. I went to update and it crashed and I lost it all.

Re: Companions with multiple looks - collection test page

Is it possible for a person to check if they have identical looking pet model/skin/size-wise, but on a different pet type? I was looking for that in the pet journal api once, but got side-tracked. I saw Quintessene's page for "unique tinted pets for 8.2", that's why I was wondering if it could be d...

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread

but Gorms would probably be a crocolisk-themed beetle or worm. I was thinking about beetles, but Gorms are actually multi-segmented, like centipedes, etc. It's just the big hump in the middle that makes them look beetle-ish. That's why I thought a kind of Crawler family with creatures like Gorms an...

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread

As far as Gorms go, I suggest these three models go together in an expanded family of segmented crawlers (name suggestion?).

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread

Stormhowl.png I finally confirmed that Stormhowl, in VEB, is tameable in Shadowlands. He's currently too high level. His skin is unique, and lighter than the other lightning worgs, i.e.: spectralsaberworg_light He doesn't currently retain his name. I also just confirmed the Jade Guardian in VEB is ...

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread

I hope for the same, and I would pay to have a pet winged Shadow beast/soul eater Edit-I know I’m obsessed with them, I’m sick of new models reusing old skeletons, my favorite families in BFA were the pterrordaxes and toads cuz they didn’t reuse the same skeletons, and I would love something new, n...

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread

I could only find two soulseeker types in there that were tameable, and just that one colour. They are very nice, though :) Soulseeker2.png There was one untameable one with the mid-grey colour. The only mawrats (all teal-grey) were sadly undead. I didn't see any maw roaches, but I plan tot go back ...

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread

I added all the skeletal raptors and devilsaurs to the untameable models list as well: https://www.wow-petopia.com/gallery.php?id=unusedmodels#model=skeletalraptors For the devilsaurs there are loads of variants, because of all the possible armour / helmet combinations. Fortunately each armour colou...

There are Drust in Ardenweald so some wicker beasts could appear there. I may not have paid them any attention.

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread

This isn't really Shadowlands info, but I added the various wicker beasts to our untameable beasts category, see: https://www.wow-petopia.com/gallery.php?id=unusedmodels#model=wickerhounds There were more than I thought! Maybe they'll become tameable some day, since undead-like beasts are tameable i...

No, I haven't tried those. Since they don't have unique names I suspect they won't keep them.

Re: Spread the Love - Phantoms

They are rather pretty :)

Maybe we'll see undead beasts tameable at some point, given the Maldraxxus tameables. I mean, if *they* think they're still wild beasts then they could potentially be tameable :)
