How long have you been playing wow?

I began playing seriously in June of 2005, (I had dinked around here and there on my brother's account before buying it myself) after my husband and I got a computer for our wedding. Originally he and I shared an account, but later that year I got my own. That's also when I stopped playing Rhyela, because at the time there was no account transfer. I don't know why I gave him my original account, I guess I was being nice. Imagine my excitement when they implemented account transfer!!! I've been playing Rhyela (previously named Nakoma) ever since.

So...yeah...five years. Long enough to remember the days of CC, mostly-normalized pets, and when the world was fresh and new. No arena, no bajillion players on every server, no GS. World PvP existed and it was fun (ah, I remember the attacks on Astranaar, Southshore, etc.). Yep...those were the good ol' days.

Started in Febuary of 05. I was a huge noob, haha. I had 1 level 60 UD priest named Alysi. She was in full devout, and I thought she was she most amazing thing ever. I quit for a few months after playing for a year or so and came back right after the mounts got armored, and made a Druid, Chaia. When Burning Crusade came out, I made a blood elf hunter named Sillysunset >.>.. not expecting to level her. Well, she ended up getting to 70 with that stupid name. I eventually changed it to Kaylai. And yeahh.

But I have played since World of Warcraft was released in 2004. So I guess that makes me a WoW Vet. Been a long time. But only the last two years have I been a 'serious' hardcore player.

Ok, for the third time..wow, I fail at basic math! Let's try this again. Hubby says he bought the game in February of 2009. I picked it about about a month later, which would be about March 2009. It is now close to the end of June 2010. That makes it a year and 3 months. There.
Do I get a gold star? No? Aww!

I started a bit over two years ago. A really good friend of mine had been playing for a while and I wanted to try it out. Wasn't all that impressed until I hit 20 on my trial account and tamed a Ghost Saber... But the moment I had the gorgeous beast spawn and join me in my adventures, I realized that this I want to continue to play.

Ahhh yes, the good old days. I remember the realm crashing once and it took 3 days to get back up. Blizz refunded time but still... I also remember that the boats would occasionally "sink" in the Maelstrom and you would pop out of the trans screen to find yourself in the middle of nowhere instead of the next port. If you got lucky you could make it to one of the islands before fatigue got you, but once there you had seconds to hearth before one of the ?? level hydras found you. And AV...glorious battles that would go on for hours! Yes, they were indeed the good old days.

I don't remember any big realm crashes like that, though I do fondly recall some heavy lag issues several times(took like 10 minutes to buy a couple stacks of arrows). I got dropped off of boats, too, but for some reason I found it hilarious as I floundered about in the middle of the ocean. I suppose because my brother and I always quested together, so he'd gloat over my misfortune. I also got stuck on the bottom of the...plank...thingy...on the Booty Bay --> Ratchet boat once (and of course got dropped off in the Maelstrom loading screen). You could see my head sticking up through the boat. Now, the AV battles that lasted for hours...I LOVED those. To me, that's what an epic battle should be all about. We had the big summoned creatures running around pwning people, the bombers, you name it. I had a blast in those things. And yeah, 40-man raids were a pain to get assembled, but I loved them. Vent was always...interesting...when there were that many people involved. Sometimes I feel like today's WoW is a little too fast-paced. Everything is just poundpoundpound it out. Instances, battlegrounds, all that. But, it's ok, it's still enjoyable enough to keep me around.

Actually no bitterness at all. I loved those days with a passion. Well except for the off-line for 3 days thing. I was on the Sargeras server which I believe was one of the first servers up. It only happened once like that, but there were issues where you would get knocked off for 2-3 hours. And as for AV, if there was one thing I would change in the game it would be to revert AV back to the way it was in Vanilla.

I too hold a loving memory of common 7-8 hour AV games

Times when holding or capping a tower felt as good as downing a raid boss, and required as much effort.

Sending in the griffons, and accidentally bombing the wrong area, or clearing the enemy assault with a well-timed cavalry charge...

I believe for me...it was around 3 years ago? It was right as BC was lauching and I hadn't gotten the expansion yet..YET being the key term...a week later I was hooked. At that time my main was my gnomish mage, but ever since I made a space goat hunter, I've been in total love...now I have a bunch of hunters scattered across many realms and factions.

I begna playing on the release date in 04. i couldnt wait to get it been hooked ever since... i think back and im like... dang... thats a long time ago back when, hunter pets where out when you got on ur mount. 40 was reg riding 60 was epic, had to actully find groups to do instance like epic leet deadmines and the stones would summon people. ahh and good ol zg.. yeah i remember raiding that, ubrs.. i has pics to of zg raid lol good times, good times. but yeah i been playing forever and a day. since the release in 04 LONG LIVE VANILLA WOW!!
