Midnight Alpha/Beta Thread
Re: Midnight Alpha/Beta Thread
So apparently the green spectral unicorn Spirit of Lake Elrendar is tameable. But friendly.
Has anyone found a way to make her neutral or hostile?

Re: Midnight Alpha/Beta Thread
It being tameable is likely because it was simply copied from another unicorn when being created, as there are many "template" NPCs in the database. There's many cases where this has happened in the past with other friendly beasts that are flagged. It isn't actually tameable in practice. Plus, it's a quest objective that would likely brick a quest if it was suddenly tamed, and we had that issue in Shadowlands before with the Nesting Valeshrieker.

Something kind of weird is. The only mandragora that isnt broken is the lightbloom one.
All the other mandragora's lower jaw clip on the middle head. But the lightbloom one doesn’t.

This has been an issue since Mandragora were first implemented. The Lightbloom version had the issue fixed, but the old ones have not.DannyGreen wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2026 4:35 am Something kind of weird is. The only mandragora that isnt broken is the lightbloom one.

Re: Midnight Alpha/Beta Thread
So there's an amusing bug with Death Knights; they can put their ghoul in the stable. Problem is, since Death Knights don't have a Call Pet spell, their active pet slots and animal companion slot are, to nobody's surprise, locked. As a result, you can't take your ghoul out of the stable, and due to Blizzard's silly coding, the ghoul can't be summoned again. At all. You genuinely brick your character by doing this.

Re: Midnight Alpha/Beta Thread
The lightbloom mandragora is fixed because it actually uses a different and identical model, which doesn’t have the neck clipping, and if you noticed; the lightbloom mandragora’s leaves are rounder and smoother as opposed to the pointier jagged leaves on normal mandragoras, hence why I tamed the lightbloom mandragora, at least until normal ones are fixedValnaaros wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2026 12:09 pmThis has been an issue since Mandragora were first implemented. As for the ghoul I am dying of laughter. Either it’s a weird unintentional bug or maybe it could be a hint to having more minion looks and types that could be collected for the raise dead spell. That could convince me to play death knight just like how convinced I am to main a hunter forever
Re: Midnight Alpha/Beta Thread
During Alpha I did pass on the issues with the original mandragora and compared it to the new one in the hope that the artist(s) involved might be motivated to update the old one to match. Maybe it's just a different skeleton. But, no luck

There's a glyph that switched the ghoul to a geist. I don't remember if there's other options.

The only other option aside from the Geist is the glyph of the skeleton. I use Geist on my DK, I see so many undead creatures I want to use on my dk, putting aside beasts, lots of cool ghoul models and other stuff

There's a minor error on the consumptor naming conventions. The Black & White and Brown consumptors have their names mixed up.

Re: Midnight Alpha/Beta Thread
Not much of a hunter thing, but did anyone notice that the haranir wolverine also have taffy teeth, which is what dreamsabers had at the beginning. If I’d have it as a pet too it would bug me a lot
Re: Midnight Alpha/Beta Thread
What do you mean by taffy teeth? Wobbly/rubbery? If so, i didn't notice but ugh :/

Re: Midnight Alpha/Beta Thread
'Taffy Teeth' usually refers to when the lower teeth share weights with the upper teeth, so they stretch instead of just being weighted to the lower jaw. I'm guessing that's whats happening here. It's happened a few times, which is so weird to me because that's something that is so easy to notice when working on the model D;
Siggy under construction!
Re: Midnight Alpha/Beta Thread
Thanks! Of course! I should have thought of that. I've seen that plenty of times over the years but didn't realise that was the term for it.Bowno wrote: ↑Thu Mar 05, 2026 3:00 am 'Taffy Teeth' usually refers to when the lower teeth share weights with the upper teeth, so they stretch instead of just being weighted to the lower jaw. Re: Midnight Alpha/Beta Thread
Wrathshell Consumptor isn't listed on Petopia yet, and can be found in most delves as a nemesis type minion. I would HIGHLY advise against taming them though because it can brick that specific encounter. Out of curiosity, I trapped and tamed all of the worms in a specific group, and that actually did cause the nemesis group to be impossible to complete. Should probably go back on beta and report that as a bug. Maybe have them make these untameable just to avoid that. They don't have any unique colors, so it wouldn't be a loss.
EDIT: Barbtooth Bloodtracker is also tameable (Wowhead doesn't show it correctly), spawns under similar conditions, and could also brick a nemesis encounter. Yes, I purposely bricked myself again to test it.
EDIT 2: Razorshell Ravager, spawned by Nullaeus when he randomly invades your delve (why can he do this already lmao), can be tamed as well, and absolutely bricks the fight. The ravagers are spawned as a mechanic that you need to kill to get Nullaeus to leave his invincibility phase, but taming one will permanently lock him in that phase. Your only option is to die if you want his loot; feign death doesn't work.
EDIT 3: Found Wain... sort of. RIP. He may not be a beast that bricks a delve, but this was still funny enough to post.
