Re: DCing to get to Jadefang
The original poster is apparently playing a night elf, so I would really recommend the suicide method. It's not very hard. 1. Get to the area below Jadefang's cave. 2. Get right below the cave itself. 3. Take off all your armor. (Make sure you have enough free bag space!) 4. Aggro one of the gyre wo...

The "scree!" was what made them click for me too. I tamed a yellow one but then caught the taming bug and tracked down Jadefang (my Viridion).

Stonetalon Mountains, as well, I believe. Probably Desolace too. And some in Winterspring, at least there used to be.

Re: Wolves as pets
One book I *can* recommend, though it's out of print and you'd have to track it down, is "Secret Go The Wolves", by R.D. Lawrence. I'd forgotten about reading this book until after posting this and doing some online searching. He was a Canadian naturalist who stumbled across two wolf kits ...

You're right! And I could easily have typed the name of the wrong ability.Kurasu wrote:Ah yes! You're right. They totally need to give that a name that's a *little* more different than the slow-breath.![]()
Specifically I wanted a pet to help kill the worm adds in the Magmaw fight.

Re: The Razza and 4.0.6
I was going to post about this myself, that I was on the hunt for him (her?) in the hopes that I'd tame Razza before 4.0.6 It's VERY important to note that Razza no longer spawns in the arena in Dire Maul. That's where I was looking, so not surprisingly I didn't find anything. I am glad I read the w...

Re: Wolves as pets
If anyone wants to get a little philosophical about it, I heard a podcast with an Australian philosopher who was living in the U.S. and ended up with a wolf as a pet. He wrote a book about it, The Philosopher and the Wolf. It was quite an interesting podcast. "Philosophy professor Mark Rowlands...

Re: New Razza Screenshot
I've already started checking to see if Razza is up, on the assumption that taming him pre-patch will still result in a white pet post-patch. I think this is going to be a looooooooooooong hunt.

It seems POSSIBLE, though I don't know, that the changes to allowed scripting broke the mod.
I personally find that the Mend Pet glyph works for most things. Of course, you do need to be level 25 to get glyphs.

Re: Old lowbie hunter, can't get default pet.
Honestly, I advise kiting from 2-10. It will sharpen your skills enormously. I'm not trying to be rude or a jerk or anything, but if you can pull it off, if you're good at kiting without a pet, then you can also kite with your pet not growling and just plain kill more things than you can otherwise. ...

A white windserpent, maybe add some particle effect, but change it so that it's about as big as a Sholazar hive wasp when tamed.
Bonus points: make it more iridescent, or make it a ghostly spirit beast.

Re: Tallstriders to be Brought In Line with Foxes
The old armor percentages were:
tenacity 70%
cunning 60%
ferocity 50%
So it's a buff to the survivability of cunning and ferocity pets.

So - I first encountered King Krush and became obsessed with taming him, after a guildmate mentioned he was in Sholazar. I became like Captain Ahab... The problem was, we were having trouble with fears, and ... Nessingwary's guards came along and killed him when I was trying what might have been the...

Wow, these screenshots are FANTASTIC, folks! I'm really inspired by them. I just finished my pet taming, I think - not as extensive as many, but I just got Skoll (yayyyyy!) and I will try to take screenshots of my different pets in appropriate zones.

Aylfric, that's an interesting point about MS. I really thought it was an increase. What do you do, fill the space with another steady? Yeah, that's all. So I keep up serpent sting, fire arcane on cooldown, and otherwise steady steady steady... Of course once we get the new talents the WHU spec wil...

Re: Odd question...do not know if it goes here
I have just the one. Well, I have an extremely lowbie Horde hunter, but otherwise just Aylfric. I ... PVP quite a lot. I just hit 70k kills. Getting from 63 to 70k was much more tiring than I thought, so I may just get to 100k whenever it happens, instead of trying to get it on any kind of schedule.
